Unity Opens Certified Home Health Care Agency
Unity Health System will open its Certified Home Health Agency July 8.
In October 2012, Unity was granted approval from the New York State Department of Health when it lifted a 19-year moratorium on creating Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHA), as part of its strategy to redesign health care delivery.
Unity was the only agency in Monroe County that was granted approval.
“The creation of a CHHA allows us to further our continuum of care for the aging and expand on being the largest and most well-known provider of quality aging services in the long term care arena,” said Barb Gray, Vice President of Unity’s Home and Community Based Programs.
Unity projects serving 900 people in the first year of operations, growing to 5,000 by the end of the third year.
