Unity Cardiac Rehab
Unity Cardiac Rehab, located
at 687 Lee Road in Greece, is a medically supervised program of
exercise and patient education that offers all phases of cardiac
recuperation including:
- Inpatient hospital care
- Outpatient care
- Maintenance program
- Preventive care
The program's goal is to offer patients the opportunity to return
to normal activities following a major cardiac event, restore patient
health, and improve quality of life. A team of health professionals,
including the medical director, registered nurses with critical
care training and experience, certified exercise physiologists,
and dietitians establish a program based on the patient's individual
medical situation, lifestyle, and abilities. The team supervises
the ongoing care and education of program participants.
The cardiac rehabilitation program consists of three phases:
- Phase I consists of inpatient hospital care, including staff
visits and assessments as well as education and information for
those who have had a cardiac event.
- Phase II is an intensive 36-session rehabilitation program of
exercise and education for those who have had a specific heart
event such as heart attack, by-pass surgery or angioplasty and
who have been referred by their primary care physician or cardiologist.
This monitored program offers a choice of class times for participation
three times each week over a 12-week period.
- Phase III is a program designed for all ages. It is specifically
geared for those with heart disease who have either completed
a 12-week monitored program or just need a maintenance exercise
program. We offer ongoing professional exercise guidance, blood
pressure and heart rate monitoring, as well as educational classes.
We also address the at-risk population who need to diet and exercise
to prevent a coronary event.
