Home Health Aide Training Classes for the Deaf

Unity at Home offers a New York State approved Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Program for the Deaf and ASL fluent caregiver. This free training course offers a unique opportunity to those who enjoy working with deaf people and would like to start a career at Unity Health System.

Requirements for home health aide certification:

  • Perform all activities listed on the home health aide competency test at the end of the training program skillfully and safely
  • Score a 75% or higher on all home health aide certification quizzes and exams
  • Attend all home health aide training sessions
  • Active participation in home health aide training classes

Training classes are free of charge and run from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with ASL interpreters provided. Training is held at Woodland Village, 1477 Long Pond Road.
